Step 1 (See screenshot Step01.jpg)Create some text on your window. In this example the word 'TEST' on a seperate layer.
Step 2 (See screenshot Step02.jpg)Select the Magic Wand tool and make sure the settings are on Tolerance 1 and no Contiguous!
While your layer with the actual text on it is still active, click OUTSIDE the text to select everything but the text. (I do this to include the anti-alias while making the text non-transparent)
Step 3 (See screenshot Step03.jpg)Now, Inverse the selection to select only the text. (Select -> Inverse)
Step 4 (See screenshot Step04.jpg)Only the text is now selected
Step 5 (See screenshot Step05.jpg)Go to the Channels tab (Right part of the screen, besides the Layers).
Select the Alpha channel (the rest (RGB) will automatically deselect).
As you can see we still have a selection.
Step 6 (See screenshot Step06.jpg)Paint the selection white with your brush or fill tool.
Step 7 (See screenshot Step07.jpg)Select the RGB Channel again and Deselect your selection.
FAQ:Here is a shorter way for Step 2 + 3 +4.Step 2
Hold your CTRL key and click on the layer icon from the text-layer.
Now all contents of this layer (the actual text) is selected.
Proceed to Step 5 now :-)
When I try to save, I get the Error message: Too many channels to export (5). What do I do now?Layer -> Flatten Image
